About this work
Arhana Ahuja is the creator of Interwoven. This body of work explores the similarities between the human body and nature, examining how time spent in natural environments can ground individuals, foster connection, and create a sense of belonging. The work quite literally encourages viewers to “touch grass.”
This series investigates the relationship between the human body and the natural environment through digitally composed images. Visual parallels between human features and natural elements highlight themes of connection, interdependence, and coexistence, suggesting that humans are not separate from the environment but inherently part of it. The concept is grounded in the idea that the human body mirrors natural systems.
In addition to these visual comparisons, the work incorporates imagery of people actively engaging with and enjoying nature. Some compositions suggest friendship and shared experiences, while others depict individuals, children, young adults, and adults expressing joy and comfort in natural settings. These moments emphasize that the connection to nature is not only physical but also emotional, shaping how people relate to themselves and to others.
Ultimately, the work invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with the natural world. By placing the human body within natural environments, the series encourages reflection on how individuals engage with nature in an increasingly digital age.
